I would assume that this hotel got its three stars rating from where it is located in Guangzhou (right in the heart of Beijing Road) and not of the environment of the rooms. Lido Hotel is one of the best places to stay in Guangzhou due to its proximity to the famous shopping area. You can enjoy the Canton Fair during the day and spend the evenings bargaining for knick-knacks. more

We were recommended to go to this hotel as it is very well situated ( next to Beijing Road ) The lobby was ok for a 3 star hotel but the room was awful. Its location is PERFECT. It's on Beijing Road, which is where you can do a TON of shopping(really cheap stuff!).
