Dated, in need of a revamp. Only good thing is location, which is great. Otherwise, hallways smelled, rugs in halls were dirty, ceilings are low just about everywhere, fixtures old, bathroom tiny, elevator sounded like it was banging against the wall, sad hotel bar in the corner of a small area with 7 foot ceilings, and while I didn't look... more

Stayed at the Hilton Embassy Row for the fourth time, as it is booked through work for conference purposes. For the price ($220 for a standard or $249 for an executive room) it is acceptable, but it falls below the Hilton standard: The rooms are decent in size, but they are looking worn (ceiling with cracking paint) and the windows... more

Having had the worst hotel experience of my life, I am writing my first review for Trip Advisor. Avoid this hotel like a pestilence, which it in fact is. The hotel is located near the Washington embassies and looked fine from the outside. It seemed like a good base for a weekend of sightseeing. I initially had to switch rooms... more

We spent a long weekend in DC, planning to see the typical tourist sites. Although this hotel isn't walking distance to any of the monuments or museums, it is only 1/2 block from Dupont Circle metro station. The area around the hotel is great for walking around, shopping, restaurants. On Sundays, there is a nice farmers market set up on... more

I stayed at this hotel as Hotwire sold it to me as a 4 star hotel. Well, it really isn't a four star hotel. It's more like 2.5 stars. The rooms are dated, the shower control's screws were actually loose, and overall the bathroom was quite moldy - there is no fan extractor in the room. Also, you have to... more

Stayed here recently on a business trip. Hotel is quite large and layout can be confusing. Turned the wrong way out of elevator more than once. Business center well-stocked with free internet/printing. Welcome drinks in lobby a nice touch in sultry Washington, DC. Rooms are decorated in "mod" style and are a little small (older property). "Lounge" is located in... more

My husband and I stayed here this past weekend, and we had a fantastic stay. I'm surprised by all the negative reviews here, actually. The room was clean and modern, the bed was supremely comfortable and the location can't be beat. The staff was accomodating in every way, and the breakfast was very good. All the food was fresh and... more

After booking our room directly with the property and ensuring it a late-arrival would not be a problem, we arrived about 9:30pm to smiling faces and helpful staff from the bellmen to the front desk. We were checked in quickly (very nice with a very sleepy and squirmy baby) and went to our room on the 7th floor ($179/night). Room... more

Stayed here in 2004, mostly due to the location (close to the Dupont Circle metro, Rock Creek Park and Embassy Row a good running location) but left after only a few days due to bed bugs biting up my legs. Construction was going on then, so I couldn't change rooms. Didn't try it again on later trips to DC, now... more

My family and I were at the hotel for a 3-day conference, with an extra day of sightseeing beforehand. The hotel charged the conference rate ($179 per night, plus taxes) for the 3 nights, and charged the rack rate ($420, after taxes) for the prior night, even though they discounted nights afterward. Notes: 1. Internet is $12.95 per night. Poor... more
