We just finished touring Banff before we came to Jasper for three nights stay. Hotels in Banff were expensive (~$150 a night) but really good quality. We paid about the same price as in Banff for a room in Chateau Jasper but the quality of the room was horrible - furnishings were outdated (from the 70's) and overpriced. It had... more

We stayed at the Chateau Jasper over Christmas of last year. We decided to try the King Executive Suite. It wasn't that much more than the standard rooms (maybe $30 extra - the cost was 149/night). The room has a very comfortable King bed, separate living room area and large bathroom with soaker/jacuzzi tub and separate shower. There is also... more

Chateau Jasper was a real let down. After promises of upgrades and grandeur from the reception staff, we were disappointed to find our room was tired and old, the television didn't work and there was a rotten sandwich left in the corner! Thankfully, we were moved to a lovely suite in the hotel next door, which i believe is part... more

I stayed here as part of a three week tour, where I stayed in 6 different hotels in W Canada overall. Of those we stayed in, this was the worst unfortunately. The decor was so dated the room felt dingy, the bathroom was cracking & peeling and the picture on the TV was fuzzy and unwatchable. I complained and the... more

We had an overnight stay as part of our tour and found the accommodation quite ok and the staff that we encountered where friendly enough. It rates average in the wide range of hotels we stayed in during our seven week holiday. Unfortunately the catering staff were overwhelmed when our group coincidentally all arrived at the same time for breakfast.... more

This place is okay, but ridiculously overpriced: we had to pay 225/night. The ceilings are very low, the decor is very outdated, and the stairwells smell of excess cleaning chemicals. Our room had an air-conditioning unit that tended to make a rattling noise (I had to lean my suitcase against it to keep it quiet). The room was okay. Basically,... more

Couldn't help but notice the army of small black crawling bug all over our unit. Front desk identified them as "weevils", and harmless. Front desk explained that they are park of being in Jasper. We hope that we don't import them to our home in our luggage. Front desk's suggestion: "keep you baggage shut". more

We recently stayed 2 nights here as part of our Rockies tour- the rooms were very spacious and clean although definetly in need of decorating and new furniture. There was a very useful fridge and small table and chairs. Room itself was a bit gloomy despite large windows. centre of Jasper a fair walk, approx 1.5kms. Glorious scenery. more

We stayed at Chateau Jasper recently for 3 nights and were very satisfied with the room, service and general facilities. The room had 2 double beds, and it was spacious enough to accommodate these and still allow room to move around and to sit down at the table provided. It was located on the outskirts of the town so is... more

We had pre-booked this hotel for 4 nights as part of our tour of the Rockies and it was by far the worst hotel on the whole trip. The room was very dark and dingy and for some reason it had been decorated in the style of a very bad victorian B&B in Blackpool. The bed was very uncomfortable and... more
