This is the type of place that is worth going back to again and again - especially in different seasons. Keep in mind that there is an extreme amount of walking involved and that the gardens and fountains may not keep the little ones attention for very long. Definitely pick up a map before you go in and keep track... more

Longwood Gardens are absolutely incredible and far exceeded our expectations. Longwood had been recommended to us by many friends as the "best" botanical garden in the nation, so we visited with high expectations. We cannot say enough wonderful things about Longwood. Plan to spend an ENTIRE day there -- to see it all takes that long. There are grand scale... more

Well worth visiting! Their hand-blown glass pumpkins (see pictures of the display) are breathtaking! As it is everything else. Quite peaceful and suiting environment. more

Having never been to Longwood, we were quite taken with the beauty of the gardens and the ingenuity of the treehouses which were on display while we visitied (October, 2008). it wasn't far from Lancaster, PA which is where we were staying and the trip was definitely worth it. We spent 5 hours there and didn't get to see it... more

My wife and I spent 6 hours here last week and didn't see anywhere near all of it.. Loved the beauty and it wasn't even any special event (Those must be marvelous). Had great discussions with the stall; marveled at the fountains; and, loved the tree houses and the greenhouses. The Conservatory is a treasure. Arrive when it opens at... more

We stopped here purely by chance - Dutch country wasn't living up to our expectations (horrid tourist trap) so our bnb hosts suggested here. Oh my goodness!! What an absolute treasure of a place! Absolutely, without a doubt, the most beautiful, well maintained gardens I have ever seen. There are various theme areas - the Italian water garden, the topiary... more

I went to the gardens in early May just as everything was blooming. The most spectacular wisteria trees I've ever seen. The gardens seemed to be endless and then there was the Conservatory which was arrayed of colors. I would highly recommend this garden. The best I have ever seen. more

This is surely a garden not to pass up if you are in the area. My husband and I were on our way to Hershey, PA so we stopped by these gardens along the way. Longwood Gardens is a vast area of gardens and tree houses. There are 3 very different tree houses that are large and well constructed. They... more
